Opotiki Schools Cross Country – tomorrow


The following children have qualified to go to The Opotiki Schools Cross Country, which will be held tommorow Friday 9th June at Woodlands School.

We will be taking the bus, leaving school at 10:00am. The first race starts at 12:00pm. Please make sure that your child has enough food, a drink of water and suitable clothing. Could each child bring $2 for transport please.

Next PTA Meeting

We would like to thank all the parents, caregivers and grandparents who attended the PTA meeting last night, we had a fantastic turnout. We are excited to announce the 3 PTA positions have been filled. A big thank you to Jen Rouse who is our chairwoman, Davina Biddle who is our treasurer and Priska McGillivray who is our secretary. And thank you to all our supporters.

Our next meeting will be held at school on Wednesday 14th June 7.00pm.

Travel assistance (through petrol vouchers) to attend GP appointments, some hospital appointments and one off specialist appointments, is available through TūhoeHauora.

To access this service you must:
*Hold a Current Community Services Card or Gold Card;
*Reside in Matahi, Ruatoki, Taneatua or Waimana (if you reside out of our coverage area, contact your local health provider for assistance);
*Provide a letter from specialist or hospital confirming scheduled appointment to attend;
*Provide a letter from GP confirming attendance to GP appointment.
If you fit the eligibility guildelines above, ask Matioro here at the Waimana Medical Centre or Karnnie at the Taneatua Medical Centre for more information.


As part of the rural 6 week challenge, Sport BOP are inviting you to try squash for free at the Tāneatua Squash Club.

Beginner adult & junior coaching will be run on Wednesday’s from 4.00 pm (juniors) & 6.00 pm (beginner adults).
Non-members are welcomed to register and give squash a go for free for the six weeks with a team’s tournament at the club to show off your new skills in action.
